Erling Haaland hip injury: Borussia Dortmund boss Marco Rose confirms star striker will miss ‘a few weeks’

Borussia Dortmund will be without Erling Haaland for the next few weeks after the Norway international was confirmed to be suffering from a hip flexor problem.

Haaland, 21, will miss Saturday’s Bundesliga trip to Arminia Bielefeld while Ingolstadt in the DFB Pokal and FC Koln in the league are also doubtful.

“Thomas Meunier will not be able to play,” said Rose ahead of the Bielefeld clash. “Nico Schulz has a torn hamstring and Erling Haaland will not play and will be absent for a few weeks with a hip flexor injury.”

“Erling has of course been down. He was happy to be back and still felt really good after the Mainz game.”

Haaland could even miss the UEFA Champions League return clash with Ajax after struggling in the 4-0 midweek thrashing in Amsterdam — his first goalless outing since Freiburg back in August — and Norway’s next set of internationals after being ruled out of the most recent break.

Despite this season’s injury issues, Haaland was on course to hit 50 goals in 50 Bundesliga outings and already has nine goals and three assists from just six league appearances.
